Drenched

Yesterday was a special day for Delhites. People have once again remembered that there is one Civic body called MCD, one State body called Sheila Dixit and one heavenly body called MOTHER NATURE.

The third one, no one can even touch. So they are left with the first two. Every year during this time, public eye start to rove about lack of sewage system which in the slightest of the rain culminates to water logging and vastness of traffic jams. Government comes and goes but cometh the hour cometh the civil plight.

People do tend to get confused regarding the actual responsibility lies with whom- is it MCD or the State Government or NDMC or some one else? So the news channels get a flurry of sms’s. Everyone is asking for someones head for the strife they face for an evening.

But while the sun shines no one is bothered to ask questions to the Civic Bodies- Whether everything is in order or not?

Its better to be prepared for the rainy days- they say than firefighting. Next year the same scene will be repeated if the Rain God decides to smile on the lady luck of the region more than usual. One song written by Gulzar summarises everything.

“Abke na sawan barse- abke wo barse to barsenge ankhiyan”  Amen.
